The Alliance
For nearly 40 years, The Alliance has empowered individuals beyond sexual and domestic violence through services, advocacy, education, and social change. Formerly known as the Alliance Against Domestic Abuse, The Alliance was founded in 1982 by a group of concerned local citizens. Today the agency is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with seven paid staff members, an eight member Board of Directors, and over 15 volunteers serving over 600 individuals annually. The Alliance is the only organization serving Chaffee, northern Saguache, and Western Fremont Counties that provides a safe and confidential place for victims to receive 24-hour crisis assistance, counseling & safe housing.
We serve survivors directly through a 24/7 crisis line, safety planning, legal advocacy and assistance, emergency safehousing and long term housing assistance, support group, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner exams, and referrals to a variety of resources. Additionally, we provide education about the prevalence and impacts of domestic and sexual violence through presentations, outreach activities, and partnerships with community organizations. Finally, we encourage culture change by being a resource to the public as well as survivors and by providing leadership on policy issues that impact our clients.

High Country Bank
High Country Bank is the largest financier of real estate loans in Chaffee County and continues to make a significant impact on the surrounding counties.
Community support is high on the list of priorities of the Bank. Last year, we donated over $100,000 in support to local organizations, non-profits, and schools. Some of the organizations that we proudly support include Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, Neighbor to Neighbor, Boys and Girls Club, Alliance Against Domestic Abuse, Chaffee County Search and Rescue, Ark-Valley Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Farm to Table, Art Walk, Friends of the Steamplant, and many more.
High Country Bank offers a full service of loan products, including business, construction, residential real estate, and consumer loans. All decisions are made locally at High Country Bank. While HCB remains a community bank, we offer many of the same services that big city financial institutions offer, including a Save As You Spend Account, online banking, bill pay through the internet, mobile deposit, person to person, and e-statements.
Heart of the Rockies Regional Hospital
Full service medical center
Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is proud to provide personalized medical care close to home. First established in 1885 as the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Hospital, HRRMC initially catered to railroad employees and their families during the great western expansion. The railroad company sold the hospital in 1962 to a group of local community leaders. For 14 years, the Salida Hospital, as it was then known, was run as a private entity.
In 1976, the local investors were repaid when the Salida Hospital District was formed, making it a publicly owned institution. In 1989, the Salida Hospital was officially renamed Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center to better reflect the offered services. Our facility now serves the visitors to and residents of the Salida Hospital District, which includes Chaffee, western Fremont, and northern Saguache counties.

Ark Valley Helping Hands
With the help of our volunteers, we aim to provide a human connection, peace of mind, and in turn, a better quality of life. Older adults who live alone, or even with a partner/spouse, need an engaging day-to-day to thrive rather than just survive. We step in to create a safer home environment, meet basic needs and combat loneliness.
